Please complete the registration form at the bottom of this page to reserve your spot by noon the day before the demo.
Tuesday morning demos are limited to 4 participants.
Every Tuesday morning at 7:00am, The Art of Paddling will offer a 30 minute Quick Start Surf Ski Demo at Founder's Landing in Marquette's Lower Harbor.
It's the perfect opportunity to get hands on experience with surf skis, no matter what your overall paddling experience. We have boats that are appropriate for brand new paddlers and for elite, experienced kayakers.
Expect to spend about 15 minutes talking about surf skis, 15 to 20 minutes trying a boat on the water, and another 10 minutes asking and answering questions. You'll be done in plenty of time to arrive at work with a giant smile on your face!
Please note that you need to confirm your participation no later than noon on the day before the demo. There is no direct cost, but you do need to be an American Canoe Association Member for insurance purposes. If you don't have an ACA membership, you can purchase a temporary, $5 membership to meet our insurance requirements.
All paddlers should come dressed to get wet. Swimsuits are okay, but a wetsuit is better - Lake Superior is cold! If you have a paddling PFD or life jacket, bring it along, too. We also have limited life jackets available for paddlers to borrow.
