If your previous instruction and boat handling practice is the cake, this course is the icing.
We will cover the fine points of the primary strokes, ranging from the forward and reverse strokes, sweeps, braces, draws and rudders, through advanced combinations and cross-bow maneuvers. After practice, games, and various activities designed to refine and polish your strokes, we'll capture you on video and finish the day reviewing your strokes over pizza and, perhaps, a pitcher of something tasty.
At first glance, the value of this course may not be clear, but being able to precisely, effortlessly, and unconsciously control and maneuver the kayak is critical to your progression to higher levels as a paddler. For more information on why it's so critical, read this article.
After the course, a DVD of your video taping session will be sent to you for future reference as you develop your paddling skills and gain additional experience.
