The Essentials of Touring Skills Training is aimed at paddlers who have spent a bit of time in kayaks, but want to start paddling further and have grander adventures on protected and flat water environments. You will learn and practice paddle planning and preparation, strokes, assisted rescues, self rescues, and much, much more. When we're done, you will have the foundation for a long, safe, enjoyable lifetime on the water.
If you've been paddling on the water for a few seasons, but have never taken an organized course or received professional instruction, you owe it to yourself to attend this class!
Length: Typically 9:00am - 5:30pm.
Location: Depending on weather, this course may take place on Lake Superior, Harlow Lake, or Teal Lake. More information will be provided after sign up.
Requirements: Personal Floatation Device, Paddle, Kayak with floatation, Clothing appropriate for immersion.
Cost: $120 per person (group lesson of 3+); $360 (private lesson for 1-2 participants)
